White & Jankowski attorneys win Colorado Supreme Court appeal

On April  9, 2018, the Colorado Supreme Court issued its opinion in Case No. 16SA243, Front Range Resources, LLC v. Colorado Ground Water Commission, 2018 CO 25.  The Court held that the anti-speculation doctrine applies to designated basin replacement plans involving new appropriations or changes of water rights.  Alan Curtis and David Taussig litigated the case on behalf of Lost Creek Land & Cattle Company, LLC.

Appointment of Truckee River Special Hearing Officer

Klahn, Esq., to an initial four-year term as Truckee River Special Hearing Officer.  Ms. Klahn is currently the managing partner at the law firm of White & Jankowski LLP, in Denver, CO, and has extensive experience in the field of western water law.  She has represented public agencies, water districts, and individuals in litigation in state courts in Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, and New Mexico; and has written and taught on water-related matters for many years.  The Appointment Committee received unanimous praise from references concerning Ms. Klahn’s skills as a litigator, negotiator, and problem solver, and was likewise impressed by her enthusiasm and interest in the Special Hearing Officer position.”
